POSITION AVAILABLE – Rutherford County has a part time Janitorial position available at the Mountains Library in Lake Lure.  Work involves dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms and emptying trashcans.  Job is 3-1/2 hours per day, two days per week, flexible schedule.  Wages $8.43 per hour.  Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma preferable, 1-2 years janitorial experience. Position Available - Rutherford County has a full time Nutrition Supervisor position at the Senior Center.  Position is responsible for taking applications for the meal program, assesses eligibility, visits homes, establishes client files, conducts reassessments, maintains home delivery meal routes.  Position reports to the Senior Center Director.  Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma, Knowledge of Federal/State Nutritional Requirements for Senior Citizens, Associates degree preferred, 1-2 years experience in the field/ and/or completion of an apprenticeship/internship in the field.  Must be proficient in computer use.  Tact and courtesy working with public a must. POSITION AVAILABLE - Rutherford County has a full time position as a Utility Worker available at the Landfill.  Position is full time and reports to the Solid Waste Director.  Work involves a variety of tasks, including loading, packing and covering refuse at the Landfill using heavy equipment such as front loader, dozer, pan and roll-off truck.  Also involves driving and picking up solid waste and recyclables on a scheduled route.  Main duties will be performed at the Transfer Station loading trucks with waste and recyclables. Responsible for recording mileage or hours driven. Must be able to assist in the garage area performing mechanical work on all vehicles.  Minimum requirements: CDL license with at least two years experience and a clean driving record.  Knowledge of safety, defensive driving skills and county geography.  Must have ability to get along with the general public.  Work is performed indoors and outdoors, subject to weather conditions and is classified as heavy labor.  Must be able to lift 50 lbs and push 100 lbs.  Drug testing required.  Hours Mon thru Fri 8:00-4:30, occasional Saturday work 7:30-12:30.  Annual Salary $26,655.  Apply Rutherford County Human Resources Department, 289 N. Position Available:           Rutherford County Airport has two part time Airport Service Personnel positions available.  Job involves routine maintenance and operations: refueling aircraft, positioning aircraft, maintain runway and hanger lifts, maintaining and cleaning terminal, main hanger and flight school building. Must be able to be competent in driving a straight drive truck to position the aircraft.  Min require: High School diploma with 3-5 years experience in the field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Job requires heavy lifting and towing, inside and outside work, exposure to dust and fumes, constant contact with the general public. EMT-Paramedic Full Time Position

 

Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services is currently accepting applications for EMT-Paramedic full time positions. Rutherford County, located in Western North Carolina consists of 564 square miles and an annual population of 64,000.  Annual call volume averages 13,000 per year including the convalescent division.   RCEMS operates (5) EMT-P level 911 trucks from (4) bases in the County and (4) EMT-P level convalescent trucks from (1) base. The 911 trucks work a 24/48 schedule and the convalescent trucks work a sliding schedule based on need of trucks.  Salary Range is $40,000-$45,000 include overtime.

 

All applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent; hold a valid driver’s license and current EMT-P credential with NCOEMS in good standing.  Individuals not holding credentials from another state and/or National Registry must meet requirement of legal recognition by the NC Office of EMS.   ALS candidates must possess BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP & PHTLS/ITLS/ATT.  All candidates must possess or obtain NIMS/ICS 100, 200, 700, 800 prior to employment.  Candidates are required to submit to pre-employment drug screening, motor vehicle record check and background checks.
