Position Available-Rutherford County has an Administrative Assistant position available. This position assists and supports the performance of the Clerk to the Board of County Commissioners and County Manager.  Duties include answering telephones and email, greeting visitors, composing correspondence, documents, technical and statistical reports, and other materials; preparing and submitting media information (including heavy use of social media and other digital communication formats) and responding to public requests, collecting information from various sources and compiling data for routine and special reports; scheduling appointments and arranging meetings.  Must have a thorough knowledge of Word, Outlook, Excel, Publisher, digital media systems, grammar, punctuation, syntax, and spelling with the ability to compose effectively in varies media.  Must be able to express ideas orally and in writing, including composing accurate minutes, reports, and correspondence.  This position must be proficient in various software including word processing, spread sheets, and file maintenance programs to enter, store, and/or retrieve and format information as requested or otherwise necessary.  Position will update website content. Requires tact, judgment, organizational skills, and the ability to deal with a wide range of personalities.  Provides direct assistance to County Management to facilitate the professional and accurate flow of information to employees and the public.  Min req:  two year degree or a combination of education and experience. Rutherford County is seeking a part time library assistant.  Position reports to the Library Director.  Work involves circulation desk duties, data entry, answering reference questions, sending overdue notices.  Job involves contact with the general public.  Must be able to lift 25 lbs regularly.  Works no more than 19 hours per week with at least one Saturday per month.  Min Rq. POSITION AVAILABLE –Part time van driver for Rutherford County Transit Department.  Position requires ability to drive a Multi passenger vehicle.  Must also assist elderly and/or handicapped adults to board and leave the vehicle, must be able to load, secure and unload persons in wheelchairs on lift equipped vehicle.  Must be able to operate an open air radio to maintain radio contact.   Requires frequent contact with the public, courtesy, and tact. Requires knowledge of county and regional geography.  Reports to the Operations Manager. Hours are based on need up to 19 hrs/week. Transit operates from approx 6 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday, wages are $9.44 per hour.  Minimum requirements: valid N.C. driver’s license, excellent driving record, five years experience as a licensed driver, graduation from high school, pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing required.  CDL preferred.  Apply Rutherford County Human Resources Department, 289 N. EMT-Paramedic Full Time Position

 

Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services is currently accepting applications for EMT-Paramedic full time positions. Rutherford County, located in Western North Carolina consists of 564 square miles and an annual population of 64,000.  Annual call volume averages 13,000 per year including the convalescent division.   RCEMS operates (5) EMT-P level 911 trucks from (4) bases in the County and (4) EMT-P level convalescent trucks from (1) base. The 911 trucks work a 24/48 schedule and the convalescent trucks work a sliding schedule based on need of trucks.  Salary Range is $40,000-$45,000 include overtime.

 All applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent; hold a valid driver’s license and current EMT-P credential with NCOEMS in good standing.  Individuals not holding credentials from another state and/or National Registry must meet requirement of legal recognition by the NC Office of EMS.   ALS candidates must possess BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP & PHTLS/ITLS/ATT.  All candidates must possess or obtain NIMS/ICS 100, 200, 700, 800 prior to employment.  Candidates are required to submit to pre-employment drug screening, motor vehicle record check and background checks.
