POSITION AVAILABLE –Rutherford County has a full time Code Enforcement Officer position available.  Position reports to the Director of Building Inspections.    Duties involve working with contractors, developers, engineers, and property owners to inspect new and remodeled buildings both residential and commercial for compliance with Building, Electrical, Plumbing and Mechanical Codes.  Also provides support and interpretation of state codes, meets with property owners, assists with office responsibilities related to permit issuance and examination of building plans and construction documents for compliance with the NC State Building Codes.  Job requires working in confined spaces, on roof tops, and in attics. Minimum requirements: High School diploma, experience and/or special training in residential/commercial building, electrical, mechanical or plumbing fields or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Must have valid driver license, clean driving record. Minimum salary $29,440 negotiable depending upon education, certifications and experience plus benefits. RUTHERFORD COUNTY EMS FIELD TRAINING OFFICER (FTO)

RUTHERFORD COUNTY is seeking applicants for the position of EMS Field Training Officer (FTO) to perform clinical instruction, skills evaluation of employees and orient new employees to policies and procedures.  Job functions include responding to dispatched 911 calls, clinical review of medical charts, assisting in training and administrative functions, and other duties as assigned.  This position reports to the Shift Supervisor and work is conducted on a 24/48 hour shift schedule.  Salary is $44,469. RUTHERFORD COUNTY EMS 911 SHIFT SUPERVISOR

Rutherford County, NC is seeking applicants for the position of EMS 911 Shift Supervisor to perform administrative and supervisory work, prepare scheduling of personnel, maintains day-to-day operations, responds to dispatched 911 calls in a QRV, provides an extra ambulance by boarding a Rescue unit when needed, and other duties as assigned.  This position reports to the Operations Manager and work is conducted on a 24 hour shift.

RUTHERFORD COUNTY EMS NON EMERGENCY DIVISION SUPERVISOR

Rutherford County, NC is seeking applicants for the position of EMS Non-Emergency Division Supervisor to perform administrative and supervisory work, prepare scheduling of personnel, schedule appointments, perform quality assurance on e-PCR’s for non-emergency division, be a liaison to local agencies that utilize services, ensures medical necessity requirements are met for all transports and other duties as assigned.  This position reports to the Operations Manager.

EMT-Paramedic Full Time Position

Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services is currently accepting applications for EMT-Paramedic full time positions. Rutherford County, located in Western North Carolina consists of 564 square miles and an annual population of 64,000.  Annual call volume averages 13,000 per year including the convalescent division.   RCEMS operates (5) EMT-P level 911 trucks from (4) bases in the County and (4) EMT-P level convalescent trucks from (1) base. The 911 trucks work a 24/48 schedule and the convalescent trucks work a sliding schedule based on need of trucks.  Salary Range is $40,000-$45,000 include overtime.

 All applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent; hold a valid driver’s license and current EMT-P credential with NCOEMS in good standing.  Individuals not holding credentials from another state and/or National Registry must meet requirement of legal recognition by the NC Office of EMS.   ALS candidates must possess BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP & PHTLS/ITLS/ATT.  All candidates must possess or obtain NIMS/ICS 100, 200, 700, 800 prior to employment.  Candidates are required to submit to pre-employment drug screening, motor vehicle record check and background checks.

Position Available-Rutherford County Detention Center has a part -time secretary position available.  Duties are of a clerical nature and assignments will be directed by the Detention Center Administrator.  This position must be proficient in various computer software programs including word processing, excel and email. Requires tact, judgment, organizational skills and demonstrate a high level of confidentiality.  Min req:  high school graduation or a combination of education and experience. $9.53 per hour.  Schedule will vary, 76 hours max per pay period. Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office is seeking part time detention officers for the Rutherford County Detention Center.  Duties include direct supervision, processing, classification, transporting and safety of inmates.  Applicants must have good communication skills, be 21 years of age, have a high school diploma, pass drug test and pass an extensive criminal background check. Applicant must meet Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office requirements and be eligible for certification by NC Sheriffs’ Training and Standards Commission.  Wages:  $13.48 while training, $13.99 when certified.  Work schedule: 12 hour days/evenings, weekends and holidays.  Apply at Rutherford County Sheriffs’ Office, 198 N. Detention Center/Shift Sergeant

Eligibility Requirements:

  1. Must have a minimum of three years experience in Detention.
  2. Applicant should have minimum of 1 year supervisory experience.
  3. No written warnings in the past 12 months.
  4. Must have working knowledge of computer operations. Knowledge of Jail Vision system (RMS) is preferred.
