POSITION AVAILABLE – Rutherford County Senior Center has a part time position to deliver Home Delivered Meals. Hours are 10:00-12:00, Monday through Friday, $9.39 per hour. Rutherford County is seeking a Deputy Finance Director. This full time position serves as an assistant to the Finance Director and is involved in receiving and disbursing funds, reviewing financial records, preparing County financial reports to include the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) and assisting with supervision and management of the accounting of County revenues and expenditures. The position also plays a key role in the preparation and maintenance of the County budget. This employee may act on behalf of the Finance Director in his/her absence. Independent judgment and initiative are required in disbursing County funds, accounting for cash receipts, and maintaining financial records. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Finance Director and is evaluated for the efficiency and effectiveness with which duties are performed. Minimum requirements: graduation from a four year college with degree in accounting or finance. Experience in governmental finance administration or a local government leadership role a plus. Rutherford County Solid Waste Department has a Lead Mechanic position available. This position is responsible for repairing and maintaining a variety of vehicles and equipment. At the Direction of the Solid Waste Director, conducts scheduled preventive maintenance functions, tune ups, checking lights, tires, brake linings, wiper blades, horns, suspension, diagnoses, repairs, and overhauls brakes, ignition and fuel systems, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and differentials. Operates equipment such as lift jacks and air guns. Performs safety inspections. Prepares daily work reports and inventory control and other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Three to five years experience in auto mechanics, certificate in auto mechanics or related field preferred, experience a must. Must be able to lift/push/pull 50+ lbs. Possession of or ability to obtain a valid NC driver’s license and must possess valid CDL. Hours Mon-Fri 6:00 am-2:30 pm, Saturday rotations. Salary $34,163 plus benefits. RUTHERFORD COUNTY EMS TRAINING OFFICER
RUTHERFORD COUNTY is seeking applicants for the position of EMS Training Officer to perform administrative and supervisory work coordinating and conducting training programs for personnel in the EMS Department and maintaining personnel files and records indicative of training received. Job functions include assisting in administrative functions; monitoring activity reports to ensure compliance; supervising activities of Field Training Officers; and overseeing, installing, and maintaining ePCR software updates and compliance. Position serves as the Privacy Officer for Rutherford County EMS.
Minimum Training and Experience: High School graduate, EMT-Paramedic, and 3 to 5 years of experience in EMS work, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
Special Requirements: Must possess certification by the NCOEMS as an EMT-Paramedic, Level 1 or Level 2 Paramedic Instructor through NCOEMS, completed a methodology course, and possess a valid NC Driver’s License. NOTE: Nationally Registered EMT-P and 4 year Academic Degree preferred but not mandatory.

EMT-Paramedic Full Time Position
Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services is currently accepting applications for EMT-Paramedic full time positions. Rutherford County, located in Western North Carolina consists of 564 square miles and an annual population of 64,000. Annual call volume averages 13,000 per year including the convalescent division. RCEMS operates (5) EMT-P level 911 trucks from (4) bases in the County and (4) EMT-P level convalescent trucks from (1) base. The 911 trucks work a 24/48 schedule and the convalescent trucks work a sliding schedule based on need of trucks. Salary Range is $40,000-$45,000 include overtime.
All applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent; hold a valid driver’s license and current EMT-P credential with NCOEMS in good standing. Individuals not holding credentials from another state and/or National Registry must meet requirement of legal recognition by the NC Office of EMS. ALS candidates must possess BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP & PHTLS/ITLS/ATT. All candidates must possess or obtain NIMS/ICS 100, 200, 700, 800 prior to employment. Candidates are required to submit to pre-employment drug screening, motor vehicle record check and background checks.

Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office is seeking part time detention officers for the Rutherford County Detention Center. Duties include direct supervision, processing, classification, transporting and safety of inmates. Applicants must have good communication skills, be 21 years of age, have a high school diploma, pass drug test and pass an extensive criminal background check. Applicant must meet Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office requirements and be eligible for certification by NC Sheriffs’ Training and Standards Commission. Detention Center/Shift Sergeant
- Must have a minimum of three years experience in Detention.
- Applicant should have minimum of 1 year supervisory experience.

- Must have working knowledge of computer operations. Knowledge of Jail Vision system (RMS) is preferred.
