EMT-Paramedic Full Time Position
Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services is currently accepting applications for EMT-Paramedic full time positions. Rutherford County, located in Western North Carolina consists of 564 square miles and an annual population of 64,000. Annual call volume averages 13,000 per year including the convalescent division. RCEMS operates (5) EMT-P level 911 trucks from (4) bases in the County and (4) EMT-P level convalescent trucks from (1) base. The 911 trucks work a 24/48 schedule and the convalescent trucks work a sliding schedule based on need of trucks.
All applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent; hold a valid driver’s license and current EMT-P credential with NCOEMS in good standing. Individuals not holding credentials from another state and/or National Registry must meet requirement of legal recognition by the NC Office of EMS. ALS candidates must possess BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP & PHTLS/ITLS/ATT. All candidates must possess or obtain NIMS/ICS 100, 200, 700, 800 prior to employment. Candidates are required to submit to pre-employment drug screening, motor vehicle record check and background checks.

Rutherford County Tourism Development Authority has a part time position available. This position will primarily work from the Welcome Center in Lake Lure. Reports to the TDA Director. Duties include greeting visitors, providing written and verbal information, and completing mailings. Wages $8.97 hour. Min Req: High School diploma plus 2-3 year experience in the hospitality industry preferable. Job requires tact and courtesy. Must be willing to learn and share about county tourism properties and events. Must be computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft applications, as well as, comfortability in using ipads/ipods. POSITION AVAILABLE –
Part time van driver for Rutherford County Transit Department. Position requires ability to drive a fourteen passenger van. Must also assist elderly and/or handicapped adults to board and leave the vehicle, must be able to load position, secure and unload persons in wheelchairs on lift equipped vehicle. Must be able to operate radio to maintain radio contact. Requires frequent contact with the public, courtesy, and tact. Requires knowledge of county and regional geography. Reports to the Operations Manager. Hours are based on need., Monday through Friday, wages $9.43 per hour. Minimum requirements: valid N.C. driver’s license, CDL with passenger endorsement preferred, excellent driving record, five years experience as a licensed driver, graduation from high school ,background check and pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing required.
