Rutherford County Tourism Development Authority has a part time position available. The ideal candidate must be 18 years of age, have a high school diploma and 1-2 years experience in a customer service position. Must be able to handle an extremely fast-paced environment during the summer season assisting up to 600 visitors in one day. Job requires great tact, courtesy, and a willingness to take direction. Knowledge of, and ability to share county tourism assets, attractions, restaurants, lodging and events will be required. This position will primarily work from the Welcome Center in Lake Lure, and may also assist at events, particularly with the Mobile Welcome Center. Duties include, but are not limited to, greeting visitors, answering the phone, providing written and verbal information, restocking informational brochures, completing mailings, and light cleaning. Applicant must be comfortable utilizing computers with Microsoft applications, using internet research skills and familiar with IPads and IPods.This job requires a flexible schedule which will include rotating weekends and is 19 hours or less per week. Position Available: Rutherford County Airport has a part time Airport Service Personnel position available. Job involves routine maintenance and operations: refueling aircraft, positioning aircraft, maintain runway and hanger lifts, maintaining and cleaning terminal, main hanger and flight school building. Must be able to be competent in driving a straight drive truck to position the aircraft. Min require: High School diploma with 3-5 years experience in the field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Job requires heavy lifting and towing, inside and outside work, exposure to dust and fumes, constant contact with the general public. Customer service skills essential. POSITION AVAILABLE –Part time van driver for Rutherford County Transit Department. Position requires ability to drive a Multi passenger vehicle. Must also assist elderly and/or handicapped adults to board and leave the vehicle, must be able to load, secure and unload persons in wheelchairs on lift equipped vehicle. Must be able to operate an open air radio to maintain radio contact. Requires frequent contact with the public, courtesy, and tact. Requires knowledge of county and regional geography. Reports to the Operations Manager. Hours are based on need up to 19 hrs/week. Transit operates from approx 6 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday, wages are $9.44 per hour. Minimum requirements: valid N.C. driver’s license, excellent driving record, five years experience as a licensed driver, graduation from high school, pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing required. EMT-Paramedic Full Time Position
Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services is currently accepting applications for EMT-Paramedic full time positions. Rutherford County, located in Western North Carolina consists of 564 square miles and an annual population of 64,000. Annual call volume averages 13,000 per year including the convalescent division. RCEMS operates (5) EMT-P level 911 trucks from (4) bases in the County and (4) EMT-P level convalescent trucks from (1) base. The 911 trucks work a 24/48 schedule and the convalescent trucks work a sliding schedule based on need of trucks. Salary Range is $40,000-$45,000 include overtime.
All applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent; hold a valid driver’s license and current EMT-P credential with NCOEMS in good standing. Individuals not holding credentials from another state and/or National Registry must meet requirement of legal recognition by the NC Office of EMS. ALS candidates must possess BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP & PHTLS/ITLS/ATT. All candidates must possess or obtain NIMS/ICS 100, 200, 700, 800 prior to employment. Candidates are required to submit to pre-employment drug screening, motor vehicle record check and background checks.
