POSITION AVAILABLE – Rutherford County Senior Center has a part time position delivering home delivered meals.  Hours are 10:00-12:00, Monday through Friday, $9.39 per hour.  Must use own car, mileage paid.  Requirements:  must have valid NC Driver’s License and a clean driving record.  Ability to lift 25 lbs or more.  Apply at Rutherford County Human Resources Office, 289 N. Rutherford County has a Youth Services librarian position available: Position reports to the Library Director.  This individual must have experience working with young children. The ideal candidate must have the ability to plan, schedule, promote, conduct and evaluate programs for children and teens (age range 0-18). This individual must also be adaptable to change and recognize the importance of offering a personalized experience to all library patrons. We are a small library system with three branches and only one full-time traveling children’s librarian.  Punctuality, a willingness to learn and a pleasant, positive, and enthusiastic attitude are essential traits for success in this position. Familiarity in working with technology is essential. Performs other duties as assigned.  Occasional evenings and Saturdays required.  Annual salary $30,941 with benefits. Minimum requirements: 4 year college degree preferred or combination of education and previous library or public service experience. Experience in working with young children in schools, community agencies, volunteer organizations, church, or other group situations will be considered. RUTHERFORD COUNTY is seeking applicants for the position of EMS Training Officer to perform administrative and supervisory work coordinating and conducting training programs for personnel in the EMS Department and maintaining personnel files and records indicative of training received.  Job functions include assisting in administrative functions; monitoring activity reports to ensure compliance; supervising activities of Field Training Officers; and overseeing, installing, and maintaining ePCR software updates and compliance.

Minimum Training and Experience:  High School graduate, EMT-Paramedic, and 3 to 5 years of experience in EMS work, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.

RUTHERFORD COUNTY is seeking applicants for the position of  EMS Lead Paramedic to mentor and coach employees and provide advanced medical skills in the field. Job functions include responding to dispatched 911 calls, being the lead crew member on an ambulance, providing ventilator transports, demonstrating leadership on shift and accountability for all county property while on duty, assisting in the development of confidence in their partner's assessment technique and their partner's mastery in their credentialed skill set, and other duties as assigned. This position reports to the Shift Supervisor and work is conducted on a 24/48 hour shift schedule. RUTHERFORD COUNTY is seeking applicants for the position of EMS Field Training Officer (FTO) to perform clinical instruction, annual skills evaluation of employees, monitor clinical competence of employees on their assigned shift, and reporting. Job functions include responding to dispatched 911 calls, ventilator transports, clinical review of medical charts, assisting in training and administrative functions, and other duties as assigned. This position reports to the Shift Supervisor and work is conducted on a 24/48 hour shift schedule. Salary is $45,025.


POSITION AVAILABLE –Part time van driver for Rutherford County Transit Department.  Position requires ability to drive a fifteen (15) passenger van.  Must assist elderly and/or handicapped adults to board and leave the vehicle, must be able to load, position, secure and unload persons in wheelchairs on lift equipped vehicle (This requires ability to pull, push, bend over, stoop and get down on hands and knees). Must be able to operate 2-way radio to maintain radio contact. Requires frequent contact with the public, courtesy, and tact. Requires knowledge of county and regional geography.  Reports to the Operations Manager. Position is 29 hours per week, Monday-Friday.  $9.44 per hour.  Minimum requirements: valid N.C. driver’s license, CDL with passenger endorsement preferred, excellent driving record, five years experience as a licensed driver, graduation from high school, pre-employment drug test and DOT physical.  Participation in random, post-accident drug and alcohol testing is required.  Apply Rutherford County Human Resources Department, 289 N. EMT-Paramedic Full Time Position

Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services is currently accepting applications for EMT-Paramedic full time positions. Rutherford County, located in Western North Carolina consists of 564 square miles and an annual population of 64,000.  Annual call volume averages 13,000 per year including the convalescent division.   RCEMS operates (5) EMT-P level 911 trucks from (4) bases in the County and (4) EMT-P level convalescent trucks from (1) base. The 911 trucks work a 24/48 schedule and the convalescent trucks work a sliding schedule based on need of trucks.  Salary Range is $40,000-$45,000 include overtime.

 All applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent; hold a valid driver’s license and current EMT-P credential with NCOEMS in good standing.  Individuals not holding credentials from another state and/or National Registry must meet requirement of legal recognition by the NC Office of EMS.   ALS candidates must possess BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP & PHTLS/ITLS/ATT.  All candidates must possess or obtain NIMS/ICS 100, 200, 700, 800 prior to employment.  Candidates are required to submit to pre-employment drug screening, motor vehicle record check and background checks.

Rutherford County Sheriff's Office Is Seeking Experienced Full-Time Telecommunicators for

911 Communications

Position is supervised by the Communications Director. Work involves operating a computerized work station while answering emergency and non-emergency calls. Work requires ability to multi-task, ability to func-tion in high stress situations while remaining calm, having patience with callers who are under stress, frightened or angry. Position involves dis-patching of Law Enforcement, Medical Personnel and Firefighters. Tele-communicators work in a confined area under constant exposure to radio traffic, ringing telephones, and conversations occurring simultaneously.
Minimum requirements: must be 21 years of age, High School Diploma, proficient in computer keyboarding, must be able to pass an onsite aptitude test. Applicant must have experience as a Telecommunicator.
Potential applicant must also pass drug test and background check. Usual work schedule is twelve hours. Hours may be scheduled for days, eve-nings, weekends, or holidays. Salary range 29,000 - 31,350 includes overtime and benefits.

Full- Time Detention Officer Position Eligibility Requirements:

Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office is seeking part time detention officers for the Rutherford County Detention Center.  Duties include direct supervision, processing, classification, transporting and safety of inmates.  Applicants must have good communication skills, be 21 years of age, have a high school diploma, pass drug test and pass an extensive criminal background check. Applicant must meet Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office requirements and be eligible for certification by NC Sheriffs’ Training and Standards Commission.  Wages:  $13.48 while training, $13.99 when certified.  Work schedule: 12 hour days/evenings, weekends and holidays.  Apply at Rutherford County Sheriffs’ Office, 198 N.
