Absentee Ballot Request

To request an absentee ballot by mail you must do one of the following:

1. Send a written letter to our office (PO Box 927 Rutherfordton, NC 28139) stating your name , address , party and date of birth. In addition, the request must be signed. Each voter must send a separate request.
   
   
2. Have an immediate family member make a request as listed above. Approved to make this request are Spouse, Brother, Sister, Parent, Grandparent, Child, Grandchild, Mother-in-law, Father-in-law, Daughter-in-law, Son-in-law, Stepparent, Stepchild, and Verifiable legal guardian. Please note that no one with Power of Attorney is allowed to sign unless they are the voter's near relative or the voter's verifiable legal guardian.
   
   
3. Come to our office at 298 Fairground Rd. in Spindale, NC and complete a form or have any immediate relative as described above come to our office and make a request for you.
   

To Vote an Absentee Ballot in Person

You may vote an absentee one-stop ballot in our office beginning the third Thursday before each election. One stop hours are 8:30 until 5:00 each weekday. In addition we will be open on the Saturday before each election from 8:30 until 1:00. This Saturday is the last day to vote One-Stop and is the only Saturday we are open.
