Whether you are about to begin building a new home, setting up a mobile home, changing your electrical/plumbing/heating system, or even putting in a pool or making changes or additions to your home, the Building Inspector will assist you in the process. The County Planner will guide you through the planning process of subdividing land or setting up a mobile home park. He will also check to be sure your land is not in a flood plain or watershed.
All commercial building plans MUST be reviewed by one of our fire inspectors--especially sprinkler plans for required sprinkled buildings. Any building requiring Life Safety Plans will also need to be reviewed before a permit can be issued.

If so, you will need to talk to the Forest City Building Inspections Department at (828) 247-4426 or 247-4425. If not, you are in the jurisdiction of the Rutherford County Building Inspections Department.
