POSITION AVAILABLE - Rutherford County has a full time position as a Utility Worker available at the Landfill. Position is full time and reports to the Solid Waste Director. Work involves a variety of tasks, including loading, packing and covering refuse at the Landfill using heavy equipment such as backhoe, dozer, pan and dump truck. Also involves driving and picking up solid waste and recyclables on a scheduled route. Is responsible for recording mileage or hours driven, fuel and fluid levels. Also must be able to assist in the garage area performing mechanical work on all vehicles. Minimum requirements: high school diploma a valid CDL license with at least two years experience and a clean driving record. Must have knowledge of safety, defensive driving skills and county geography. Must have ability to get along with the general public. Work is performed indoors and outdoors, subject to weather conditions and is classified as heavy labor. Drug testing required. Hours Mon thru Fri 8:00-4:30, occasional Saturday work 7:30-12:30.
