Contact SWEEP SWEEP is always looking for new members who are interested in recycling and protecting our environment. Our meetings are on the first Friday of the month at GDS at noon. Everyone is welcome and pizza is provided. GDS is located at 141 Fairgrounds Road in Spindale.

To get started... If you live in Forrest City, Ellenboro or Ruth, call GDS at 828.245.1642 to request a bin or learn when trash day is for you.
If you live in Rutherfordton, call the Public Works Department at 828.287.5961.
Get a Tour Anyone can tour the C&D landfill and transfer station at the end of Laurel Hill Drive in Rutherfordton. Call the Solid Waste Administration office at 287-6125 at least 2 days in advance. Wear old clothes and closed toe shoes.
