Handouts

Over the last several years, SWEEP had created a few handouts that are used to inform people about the importance of recycling, as well as providing the how-to knowledge in Rutherford County.  Check out any of the links below to see the brochures; at the bottom of each page is a download link if you want a copy for yourself.  Copy and disperse as much as your heart desires.

Recycling in Rutherford County - This brochure is a great introduction to recycling in Rutherford County.  It provides fun statistics and information, lists Convenience Centers and includes a listing of important phone number.

Reciclando en el Condado de Rutherford - This is the Spanish version of our "Recycling in Rutherford County" brochure.

Hickory Nut Gorge Recycling Handout - The Hickory Nut Gorge Recycling Center is open to all residents of the Hickory Nut Gorge, which includes Lake Lure, Chimney Rock, Bat Cave and Gerton. It is not county owned, so the rules for recycling are slightly different than the rest of the county. This handout is specific to that recycling center.

Recycle: It's the Law - This is a quick and easy half-page handout that illustrates the importance of recycling, including the creation of jobs and helping the economy.

Did You Know?
11 U.S. States now have a bottle bill.  This means that consumers pay a deposit on beverage containers when they make a purchase and only get the deposit back when they return the bottle or can to be recycled.  For more information on bottle bills, visit bottlebill.org.

Where to Now?
Sometimes it's hard to get a recycling routine started.  Don't worry.  We've got that information for you.

To learn how to dispose of less common recyclables, visit our recycling tips page.

If you're planning on hosting a public event any time soon, consider borrowing some recycling bins. It's free!

Wouldn't it be great if this waste wasn't around to begin with?  Visit our waste reduction page.
