Public Event Recycling
If you're hosting an event in Rutherford County and would like to encourage your crowd to recycle, you're in luck. SWEEP coordinates a recycling bin loan program designed for use at community events, fairs, festivals and block parties in Rutherford County. We have 22 ClearStream recycling containers that we're happy to loan at no cost to groups hosting public events.
If you're interested in using some of these containers, contact Frank Chyz at fkchyz@nctv.com at least two weeks in advance. ClearStreams will be distributed on a "first-come, first-served" basis. The user will need to arrange and confirm pick-up and drop-off times. We ask that all bins return clean and in good working order. Again, there is no cost to you, but we will charge $50 for any unreturned ClearStreams.
Thanks for recycling at your event!

Did You Know? North Carolinians recycle 68 pounds of materials a second. That's impressive! But we throw away 679 pounds of trash a second. That's almost 10 times what we recycle each month. Where to Now?We've got an assortment of handouts that you are welcome to download and distribute. The more the better, really. To learn more about recycling, visit our online resources page. There, you'll find information of all sorts, including kids' recycling activities. We believe recycling should start at a young age. See what we're doing within the school system to promote good habits.
