POSITION AVAILABLE- Rutherford County 911 Communications is seeking a Full Time 911 Shift Supervisor
Salary: Minimum starting at $41,262
Job Description: Under the supervision of the Rutherford County Communications Director, an employee in this class will meet the standards required as a basic Telecommunicator classification with The Rutherford County 911 Communications, along with the additional duties of a 911 Shift Supervisor. The position will be the main point of contact and control within the center during a shift for employees under their charge. Additional specific job description below
Knowledge and Skills: General knowledge of computers, email, phones, various computer programs. General empathy and professional communications skills to provide proper guidance to staff and callers. Familiar with CAD systems, DCI or NCIC. Familiar with law, fire, and medical services dispatching. Ability to provide great leadership for staffing. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to remain calm under circumstances which may involve life hazard incidents. Ability to multi-task between answering phones, and radio traffic simultaneously. Ability to work twelve (12) hour shifts (current opening is on night shift). Ability to sit for extended periods of time. Eligibility Requirements: Must have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a Telecommunicator. Must be currently or recently employed (within 3 months) with a 911 agency in a supervisory role for a minimum of one (1) year. Preferred current certifications in National Academy NA-EMD, CPR, NC/DCI Module 1-3, or ability to achieve within three (3) months. Position Available-Rutherford County Tourism Development Authority has a part time, Welcome Center Information Specialist position available at the Welcome Center located in Lake Lure, NC. Applicant must be able to handle an extremely fast-paced environment. Knowledge of or willingness to learn, and ability to share county tourism assets, attractions, restaurants, lodging and events will be required. This position will primarily work from the Welcome Center in Lake Lure, and may also assist at occasional events. Duties include, but are not limited to, greeting visitors, answering phone calls, researching and providing verbal or printed/written information, restocking informational brochures, stocking supplies and janitorial cleaning within center. Candidate must be able to lift up to 40 pounds, bend, stoop and reach. The ideal candidate must be 18 years of age, have a high school diploma and preferably 1-2 years’ experience in a customer service position. Candidate must be a reliable, flexible, personable individual that has strong communication skills. Candidate must be able to utilize computers with Microsoft applications, including Outlook, internet research skills and must also be familiar with iPads. This job requires a flexible schedule, which will include weekends and holidays and is up to 19 hours per week. Job Description: The primary responsibility of the telecommunicator position is handling incoming 911 and administrative phone calls. Processing of calls within a computer aided dispatch (CAD) program. Dispatching of Rutherford County emergency service personnel to aid in the needs to the citizens and visitors to Rutherford County. Continually work well with coworkers, field personnel, and after-hours agencies. Primary schedule will be to fill in a 12p-12a shift, vacation and sick leaves. POSITION AVAILABLE- Rutherford County Solid Waste Department has a part time Truck Driver Position open. Position is part time and reports to the Solid Waste Director. Position is responsible for collecting and transporting solid waste and recyclables, dirt or other hauls as assigned. Work involves driving and picking up on a scheduled route, monitoring status and repair needs of truck, and recording mileage, times in and out and other data. In county hauls between Convenience Centers and Solid Waste. Minimum requirements: High School Diploma, must possess valid N.C. CDL, two years experience and a clean driving record. Must have knowledge of safety, defensive driving skills and county geography. Must have the ability to get along well with the general public, and good oral and written communication skills. Work is performed outdoors and subject to weather conditions and is classified as heavy labor. Hours: Monday 7:00 to 1:30, Tuesday 7:00 to 1:30 and Friday 7:00 to 2:30. $16.09 per hour. POSITION AVAILABLE-Part time van driver for Rutherford County Transit Department. Position requires ability to drive a Multi passenger vehicle. Must also assist elderly and/or handicapped adults to board and leave the vehicle, must be able to load, secure and unload persons in wheelchairs on lift equipped vehicle. Must be able to operate an open air radio to maintain radio contact. Requires frequent contact with the public, courtesy, and tact. Requires knowledge of county and regional geography. Reports to the Operations Manager. Hours are based on need up to 19 hrs/week, possibility hours will increase to 29. Transit operates from approx 6:30a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday, wages are $11.03 per hour. Minimum requirements: valid N.C. driver’s license, excellent driving record, five years experience as a licensed driver, graduation from high school, pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing required. EMS Positions Available:
POSITION AVAILABLE-Paramedic, AEMT and EMT 12 Hour Shift positions available Rutherford County EMS is excited to announce that we are now hiring for multiple 12 hour shifts on our 911 Division. Starting wages are: Paramedic ($20.10/hour, $48,077 annual). AEMT ($16.79/hour, $40,167 annual). EMT ($16.05/hour, $38,401 annual). Annual call volume averages 13,000 per year including the convalescent division. RCEMS operates (7) EMT-P level 911 trucks from (4) bases in the County. The 911 trucks work a 12 hour Pittman schedule.
Minimum Training and Experience: All applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent; hold a valid driver’s license and current NCOEMS credential in good standing. Individuals not holding credentials from another state and/or National Registry must meet requirement of legal recognition by the NC Office of EMS. ALS candidates must possess BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP & PHTLS/ITLS/ATT. All candidates must possess or obtain NIMS/ICS 100, 200, 700, 800 prior to employment. Candidates are required to submit to pre-employment drug screening, motor vehicle record check and background checks. Duties include direct supervision, processing, classification, transporting and safety of inmates.
